What are the frontiers of human consciousness? What would an intellectually enlightened civilization look like? What would be their ideals? Ajax Axe explores these issues in her sculptures and through her philosophical writings and performances.

She is not interested in simply making objects for the sake of making objects, but in creating a mythology and building a theoretical future through symbols, idols, installations and rituals. The marriage of science with mysticism is one of the primary themes in her work and she seeks to evoke a sense of mystery and awe at our place in the universe through her sculptures.
